Home Remedy Sinus Headache brings you a list of easy cures to
stop sinus headaches and relieve pain.
Home Remedy for Sinus Headache
Moisturize the air: a humidifier can
help add moisture to
the air and alleviate sinus headaches caused by dry, indoor air. You
can also try sitting in the bathroom while letting the shower run with
really HOT water, several times a day.
Neti pots: you can find these for about
$10 to $20 at your
local drug store or a health food store. Mix a pint of lukewarm water
with a teaspoon of salt. Then tilt your head over a sink at an angle of
45 degrees (for example, if you are right handed, tilt your head with
left ear towards the sink). Place the pot's spout directly into your
top nostril (in this case, the right nostril) and gently pour the
solution in.
The salt water will flow through your nasal cavity into the other
nostril. Some of it may get into your throat.
Blow your nose to eliminate any water, then repeat the steps on the
other nostril. (See demo video below)
Hot wash cloth: soak a wash cloth in hot
water then ring it
out. Place the wash cloth on a microwave safe plate then heat in the
microwave for 5-10 minutes. Before placing the wash cloth over your
forehead, rub medicated chest rub (like vicks Vapor Rub) just above
your eyebrows in a straight line.
Now lay down and relax for about 10 minutes.
Spice: eating spicy foods can not only
help metabolism, but
also clear your sinuses. Some of our editors love wasabi for this
effect!
